THE TASK: Memorize the Lord’s Prayer

I. Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

II. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

III. Give us this day our daily bread.

IV. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

V. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

VI. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Jacob finished memorizing the Ten Commandments this last week and I am so very proud of him. He recited them for the pastor and some of the people at our church and they were very impressed. Some were even motivated to memorize them too! Well done my son, well done.

THE TASK: Memorize the Apostles Creed (Creed?)

I. I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

II. And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord;

III. Who was conceived of the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary;

IV. Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; [See Calvin]

V. The third day He arose again from the dead;

VI. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

VII. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

VIII. I believe in the Holy Ghost.

IX. I believe an holy *catholic church; the communion of saints;

X. The forgiveness of sins;

XI. The resurrection of the body;

XII. And the life everlasting. AMEN.

*The word “catholic” refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
